Between my first and second year of college, I decided to spend the summer being a camp counselor. I thought this would be an awesome time spending time with small children, getting paid, and getting free food and housing. What did I have to lose? I believe I underestimated a job where I would spend 90% of my waking hours outside in the warm season. Each day it seemed to get hotter plus hotter, yet there was not any flexibility to go inside as you pleased. I would try to plan activities that required a lot of sitting down, little movement, or could be done in shaded areas. This was strenuous because I was a honestly active lady plus loved to play sports plus run about. However, the heat made myself and others sluggish and lazy. There were particular times of day that I looked forward to; 11am, 1pm, plus 6pm. There were the times that indoor activities were scheduled. When the air conditioning. would hit our face, it would be the largest relief of the day. I actually enjoyed the time spent inside with the air conditioning. The air conditioning was always so cold that it also made you want to curl up and just take a nap. It was extremely hard to get up plus leave it behind. Some of the camp counselors would sneakily find a way to extend their time in the cool air, by faking injuries or even illnesses, plus hiding plus avoiding particular activities when possible. This warm season proved to be honestly long plus was undoubtedly the last one I ever spent this way.
