We just recently relocated from across the country to a brand new city and climate. I had only ever resided in the same state until now, and was accustomed to the wildly variable seasonal climate, so moving was a big deal for me. I’ve been trying to get used to the much hotter and more humid environment around here, but I think it’s going to take me some time to adjust fully. This has been apparent during the first week while we’ve been struggling to settle into our new house and we’ve had to use the air conditioning at least 100% more than we used to. I’ve been working on a lot of projects around the house, and have had a desperate need for increased AC compared to usual. Yesterday, in particular, I began working on painting new furniture and even with the indoor temperature set to 70 degrees, I was sweating bullets and ruining my work. I turned the thermostat down further, but the house takes so long to cool down that I knew I couldn’t wait for it to reach temperature or else my project would be ruined. Desperate to make more progress, I started pulling out every fan that we own and setting them all up in the project room. Soon I had more than half a dozen box fans and utility fans blasting away in the little space, creating a cool whirlwind effect that felt truly miraculous on my sweaty body. The extra ventilation was exactly what I needed to take the AC to the next level.
