I can’t believe that I made such a huge mistake when it came to my HVAC system. I kept telling my husband that I was taking care of the annual repairs, all the while, ignoring them. Now, my husband is furious at me and I can’t say as I blame him. He is out in the garage right now, throwing stuff around and grumbling. I did call for repairs on the HVAC system because we woke up this morning to it not working at all. When my husband pulled the filter, he knew right away that it had not been changed in a very long time. The HVAC system had failed and it was going to cost a fortune to repair. They had been saving for almost two years in order to take a vacation to a tropical island, now, that savings would be used to buy a new HVAC system. The technician was disgusted at everything he found when they checked the system. The HVAC unit had undoubtedly burned out from overheating. This could have all been avoided with simple preemptive repairs on the HVAC system. The only silver lining in all of this is that the new system will operate much more efficiently that the old one. This will make saving money on a monthly basis easier. Maybe once everything is done and the HVAC company as left, he will calm down. I am currently fixing his favorite meal as part of my apology. Not sure that will help, but it can’t hurt either. When he sees that the energy bills go down each month when he gets the bill, that should help over time too. My advice to anyone is to make sure you follow through on your turn-ups for your HVAC system.
