I have never been a big fan of spending a lot of time outdoors. Don’t get me wrong. I appreciate the landscapes and beautiful sites, but I’m not one for roughing it. I’m not a fan of this kind of lifestyle because I am very dependent on my air conditioner. At home, my HVAC unit is my pride and joy. I work very hard to make sure it stays in good shape so that I can keep my house at the perfect temperature. When venturing out into the woods for a few days, there is no way to bring an A/C along. It doesn’t matter if it’s a portable air conditioner or even some sort of small contraption. There’s just no way to keep a climate-controlled tent. This is why I opt for staying in hotels or rental homes when I go on vacation. This ensures that at the end of the day I will always be able to go and adjust the thermostat so that I can get comfortable. When I’m on vacation, I don’t want to have to think about the temperature or dealing with extreme heat or coldness, and that’s why I would much rather plan my trips in this fashion. Time outdoors is important because it gives people a chance to step away from the regular routine. I recognize that. However, I also recognize that there’s no way I’d be able to get into a relaxed mindset without my air conditioner. So, I will take the easy route and spend a little extra money on a cabin. To me, it’s all worth it in the end because it helps me maintain my sanity and the perfectly cool space.
