My dog Odin is my whole world… I’ve had him ever since he was a puppy as well as now that he’s a huge grown up Irish Wolfhound, he’s the best dog that I’ve ever had. I hate to be away from him, even for a few minutes! That’s why it’s always traumatizing for both of us whenever it’s time for him to be groomed. I usually take him to one of the chain pet stores in the village so they can groom him in their in-store grooming facility. They have the right set up in there to deal with a dog of Odin’s huge stature. The last time I took Oden in for a bath as well as getting his hair trimmed and getting his nails clipped, I noticed that the store was really cold when Odin and I first walked in. It’s the middle of the warm season, so the temperature control unit in the store was actually set to a fairly low temperature to keep up with the demand of the heat outside. After I dropped him off I was told that it would take a couple hours until he would be finished. During that time, I went for a cup of coffee, bought a new book, as well as tried not to stress out about whatever my puppy might be going through at the pet store. When they finally called to let me know that I could pick him up, the first thing I noticed was the cold cold store! The air conditioner must have been running non-stop the whole time that Odin was there. I think they must have had something wrong with the temperature control unit in the store. Poor Odin had less fur because of his trim as well as so he was shivering from the temperature of the air conditioning! I think next time, I’ll take him to a private groomer so they can have more control over their air conditioner settings.
