cleaned the air ducts

This month is 1 of those rainy Tuesdays where you’re stuck inside and start to get cabin fever. The adolescents and I did all kinds of inside things. The people I was with and I played board games, drew pictures, made puzzles, built with building blocks, made chocolate chip cookies, and so on, however eventually we ran out of things I like to do doing, and it was only 1 o’clock in the day. I asked if anyone wanted to go outside and walk in the rain with umbrellas. “Yes!” everyone yelled at once. So out we went, got thoroughly soaked (I knew they wouldn’t stay under the umbrellas), and finally came back inside. Of course we needed to put on dry clothes, however it sure was nice to be able to hang the wet clothes on living room chairs draped over the registers for the forced air oil furnace heat to dry them. Next I turned up the temperature control a few degrees for extra warmth so that we could cuddle over the living room air register. It was just Last year that we had the oil furnace inspected by our Heating, Ventilation, and A/C company, who also cleaned the air ducts. With a clean bill of health, I was absolutely blissful to have such a great oil furnace blowing heated air on us. It wasn’t quite a cozy as the cast iron radiators that I sat on as a kid in our seasoned farmhouse. The people I was with and I had a big boiler in the basement, and I can still hear the gurgling hot water flowing through the coils of the radiators. But I do appreciate our gas powered oil furnace in our newer home, and it has great response to any adjustment that I ever make on our temperature control. This month was such a great day to have the assurance of a cozy beach house with warm blowing air after getting cold and wet outside.
