I’ve always enjoyed baking treats for our family and friends. A few years ago, I started getting asked to supply cookies, cakes and other baked goods for all sorts of occasions. Baking for baby showers, ceremonys, anniversaries, birthdays and office parties has turned into a small business. Because I labor out of our home, I needed to invest in some replaces to our study room. I tore out the wall between the study room and kitchen to increase square footage, and then purchased a commercial sized oven, cooler and mixer. One of the greatest troubles was the heat from the oven and the smells. My home is equipped with a forced air furnace and central cooling system. There is 1 temperature control to control temperature for the entire home. The method is too aged to accommodate zone control. If I catered to the needs of the study room, the rest of the beach house was chilly cold. I consulted with a local Heating and A/C business for a recommendation. He suggested that I invest in a ductless mini-cut for the study room. The ductless heat pump was installed within a couple of hours and required no major renovation. There is a compact outdoor compressor linked to a permanently mounted air handler on the wall. The ductless mini-cut provides both heating and cooling capacity and strictly targets the study room. I make adjustments to operation through an app on our iphone. Despite the small size of the equipment, it’s plenty powerful enough to handle demand. The study room is now nice and cool separate from affecting any other room. Plus, the ductless method features multi-stage filtration, which combats smells and air contaminants, such as flour and dust. The study room remains cleaner and our family doesn’t complain about the constant smell of cookies baking.
